On a Church away day, in a sleepy Northamptonshire village community hall, we got around to the subject of speaking in tongues.
Some of the forty or so people there had spoken in tongues for decades, whilst others were only vaguely aware that there was, or ever had been, such a thing.
Everyone was encouraged to ask questions, and a list of them was compiled. Subsequently, another two or three were added, and I undertook to try to give some simple and sensible answers.
This booklet is no more than that: some questions and an attempt at some sensible answers. As with most of us, my understanding and attitude has been shaped by a fusion of what the bible says, some accounts from history and my own experience. If you want dogmatic or controversial statements, this is probably not the place to look, as I have endeavoured to avoid both.
